DO NOT PAY To Go To Music School! Here Is Why!

People ask me if they should go to music school ALL THE TIME! When you don’t know any better everything that pertains to knowledge and educating yourself seems like a good idea.

Is music school a waste of money? You better figure that out with me before it’s too late and you waste your cash.

There is a lot of talk about how going to college in general is a waste of time and money because you get no real world experience and they aren’t teaching you anything that will stick. It also immediately throws you into debt and hinders your progress for the next 5 years of your working life. We could have a conversation on going to music college and school in general all day but let’s not get swept into that.

Should you pay to go to music college… Absolutely NOT. I will Rock Bottom you if you think that is a good idea.

I have had good friends of mine think that it might be a great idea to go to music college only to have it turn out to be one of the biggest mistakes they ever made. This choice that seems like the smart choice ended up completely throwing his life off balance and even made him stop chasing his music dreams when he was extremely talented. I hate to see that! Don’t throw away your incredible talent and slow yourself down by going to music college.

I know a bunch of people who went to music school and it’s so funny that they get out and are right back where they started. Do you think record labels or studios ask… did you go to music college? lmfao. No… they ask to hear records you produced, mixed or mastered. They ask you who you are connected to or how many units you have helped sell. It’s not the same game as people living a NORMAL LIFE… this is the big dog league. Entertainment is what keeps the NORMAL LIFE people entertained. So we don’t play by the same rules.

Instead of paying to go to music college do one of the following.

1) Get an internship at an actual studio and meet REAL artists in your area 2) Get a loan for what the college would cost and buy your own gear and have it for the next 10 years to create and learn So

2) Get a loan for what the college would cost and buy your own gear and have it for the next 10 years to create and learn So

So is is music school a good choice? lol no. No it tis not.
